Ok good job. Youve assigned your
objects.
Now its time to make your multi-sub object material that you will apply
to your object.
Following the numbered examples:
1) Choose the material button at the top right. (Red ball with
checkered flag)
2) Choose "New" and the "New material" Window will pop up -
probably overlapping but I moved it for clarity here.
3) Choose "Multi-material"
4) Choose the "Ok" button.
Its time to be organized - name
your material - and the sub materials as shown by highlighted boxes.
Heres how it looks when your done:
Now we have to set each of the sub materials. Notice the ID
column. These numbers can be modified. It just suits our
purposes that they are 1 and 2 as we assigned earlier. If that is
not right - change it to what you made your numbers be.
Go ahead and click on the Sub Material box as highlighted now.
This opens a new window.
1)We have to expand the "Maps" rollout first to get to the important
area for our needs.
2) Put a check mark in "Diffuse" Diffuse is your main skin map
for a standard game model. Advanced game engines may use other
map types. If needed also check those as well or as appropriate only.
3) Currently there isnt a map assigned so you have to click the "None"
box next to your diffuse seleciton and make an assignment.
4) The material navigator comes up now - choose "bitmap" as your
type.
5) click "ok"
